Holding Patterns

Dark Light

Holding patterns are unjustly despised. Indeed, they’re always present when the productivity stars align. Time is available; focus is razor-sharp, but something critical to moving forward is missing.

But the day is anything but wasted if you successfully open up your field of view and overcome rigidity, guilt, and shame. The trio is masterful at convincing you that business hours must be spent on business tasks. You know, if you’re a real founder, anyway. But where’s the trio when it’s time to protect your personal time? Selective politicking.

On the rare occasion you are not responsible for the next steps of any project, ask: what can I do right now to bring the most joy? No boundaries.

Do that, unabashedly. That’s why you chose to become a founder.

The narrow field of view is learned, and it’s suffocating.
